Snellville Home Additions That Match the House

An extra bedroom, a primary suite or more family room, built onto the house you have, with one lead running foundation, framing, tie-in and finishes in order.

Describe the room you keep wishing you had — (000) 000-0000

More Room Without a Moving Truck

When the street, the schools and the lot all suit you and the only problem is space, building on is worth pricing out. It's the most involved job on our list, touching foundation, structure, systems and finishes.

Each of those stages hands off to the next. Your lead manages every handoff and tells you as each one wraps up.

What an Addition Involves

From the Ground Up

New footings with a slab or crawlspace beneath, then framing set so the addition's floor lands level with the rooms you already have.

The Seam

The wall between the house and the addition is opened as late as possible to limit dust, and trim and exterior finishes are blended so the join is hard to find.

Systems and Interior

Wiring, lighting, ductwork and any supply and drain lines for a new bath, followed by insulation, drywall, trim and paint matched to the rooms next door.

How an Addition Gets Built

  1. Start With What's Missing

On the phone we hear what the household needs. A visit follows to walk the yard, see the house and judge where an addition could realistically sit.

  2. Zoning, Then Scope

Your lot's setback and zoning rules shape how big the addition can be and where it can sit. With that settled, the written scope, price and schedule follow.

  3. Build in Stages

Foundation, framing, systems and interior go in order, with inspections where required and an update from your lead as each stage closes out.

Addition Questions

How long does a home addition take?

Plan on months rather than weeks. Size, foundation type and how much of the existing house gets opened all matter, and the schedule you receive breaks the job into stages with expected dates.

Should we build up or out?

Out takes yard space inside your setbacks. Up saves the yard, but the house underneath has to carry a second floor, which often means reinforcing the foundation and framing. The two paths price out differently.

Can we stay home during an addition?

Usually. Most of the work happens outside the existing walls until the tie-in, which is opened as late as possible and sealed off with plastic while it's underway.

Outgrowing the House?

Say who needs the room and where you picture it going. We'll talk through size, placement and what building it would involve.
